HAPPY NEW YEAR for 2010. Its going to be a GREAT YEAR.

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

This past season has been one of the best Blue Marlin seasons I have ever had. It was Absolutely Brilliant.
The highlight for me was my daughter Katherine with her first fish and releasing a potential World Record. She showed amazing ability. It was my best day ever.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all those anglers who have fished with me over the years and wish them a Very Happy 2010. It is going to be a Great Year.

Happy New Year with a glass of water... Well a little Paddy's Irish Whisky to give it some flavor !

Katherine in the air on a 600 Blue

Katherine in the air on a 600 Blue

WAY TO GO Katherine. Even as small as she is at 15, with the correct adjustment to the chair it is a piece of cake for any agile junior angler. To make things even easier to get that rod to the chair I made an addition of the butt handles from Roddy Hayes. Running around the cockpit with one of those outfits is not easy at best of times but the handles seen in the pic made it so much easier.

DOUBLE HEADER 1,000 & 700 both Tagged and Released

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Things have been quiet for a few days but then it broke loose with a double header today. John Eckland from Ca cancelled a few days and John Michael from London picked them up. His luck was in with a double header. My first in Madeira with positive hook up.
Only a short time before John asked me ” what happens if we get a double ?”. Jokingly I replied, ‘ well you just call the police and tell them you are in trouble’ and thought nothing of it. What happened shortly after was mayhem. But with calm and decorum we dealt with the problem – The big fish WAS the problem !! (double header 700 and 1,000) Two hours later we let her go. Had she been looking like 1400 then we would have been talking about a different subject. I might say one thing here. Years ago on the GBR Jo Jo hooked 10 double headers in a row on the Avalon and caught 20 fish. This was also a lot of fun !!!img_32212
