WAHOO are back

Mick Devaney and son Ross caught these two nice Wahoo on the “Katherine B” last week. Two for two in a double header. The Wahoo have not been thick this year so far but they just might be coming in a bit late. The big one here caught by Ross went 22 kg.

HAPPY NEW YEAR for 2010. Its going to be a GREAT YEAR.

This past season has been one of the best Blue Marlin seasons I have ever had. It was Absolutely Brilliant.
The highlight for me was my daughter Katherine with her first fish and releasing a potential World Record. She showed amazing ability. It was my best day ever.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all those anglers who have fished with me over the years and wish them a Very Happy 2010. It is going to be a Great Year.

Happy New Year with a glass of water... Well a little Paddy's Irish Whisky to give it some flavor !

Claire got her second wahoo but earned it the hard way after a 1:1/2 hour battle on 20 lb.
The fish was hooked in the corner of the jaw and gave the young lady the fight of her life.

The Wahoo this year are averaging 40 to 50 pounds with the big ones over 60. Thats great fun angling on 20 lb gear.

WAY TO GO Katherine. Even as small as she is at 15, with the correct adjustment to the chair it is a piece of cake for any agile junior angler. To make things even easier to get that rod to the chair I made an addition of the butt handles from Roddy Hayes. Running around the cockpit with one of those outfits is not easy at best of times but the handles seen in the pic made it so much easier.
