This Madeiran Giant Blue Marlin was caught by another first timer from England.
Neil Hardiker had never been marlin fishing in his life before. We released this fish and called it 900 pound. I think it could have been a bit bigger on the scales. However it is our policy to tag and release unless the fish may look like a world record. Even then it is up to the angler and today there are very few people who would even think about killing such a magnificent creature.
Reports today from boats fishing off Madeira say that two more giants have been seen.
